The thing that struck me about this article is that Ryan Gosling has been cast as the father of a 14-year-old in The Lovely Bones. How is that possible? He’s 26 years old. Bad casting.

That is odd. Ryan Gossling is a great actor and all, but couldn’t someone a little older and just as intense play the part? How about Edward Norton? (Aside: I have decided that Edward Norton, Ryan Gossling and Jason Dohring (Logan from Veronica Mars) should star in a movie together where they play brooding and angsty brothers who possibly are serial murderers).

Agreed. I also question the casting of Rachel Wietz as the mother. Yeah, she’s old enough to have a 14-year-old daughter, but it still seems odd – not to mention that she’ll be playing opposite Ryan. Stanley Tucci as the killer, however – good call.
