I'm
going to do a cop-out entry today because I can't think of
anything to write about, and not much has happened since my
last entry. Basically, I took a shower, went to the grocery
store, came home and watched television and went to bed. And
nothing interesting even happened at the grocery store except
that there were A LOT of screaming kids. I guess it was just
the timing.
So Molly sent me this personality test. Normally I don't
like those e-mails that go around (as I have made very clear
on these pages), but this one was actually interesting and
kind of accurate. So I present it here, along with my answers,
and then you can take it too. The bolded choice is my answer.

Over 60 points: Others see you as someone they should
"handle with care." You are seen as vain, self-centered, and
extremely dominant. Others may admire you and wish they could
be more like you, but they don't always trust you and hesitate
to become too deeply involved with you.
From 51 to 60 points: Your friends see you as an exciting,
highly volatile, rather impulsive personality; a natural leader,
quick to make decisions (though not always the right ones).
They see you as bold and venturesome, someone who will try
anything once; someone who takes a chance and enjoys an adventure.
They enjoy being in your company because of the excitement
you radiate.
From 41 to 50 points: Others see you as fresh, lively,
charming, amusing, practical and always interesting; someone
who is constantly the center of attention, but sufficiently
well-balanced not to let it go to your head. They see you
also as kind, considerate, and understanding; someone who
will cheer them up and help them out.
From 31 to 40 points: Other people see you as sensible,
cautions, careful and practical. They see you as clever, gifted,
or talented, but modest. Not a person who makes friends too
quickly or too easily, but someone who is extremely loyal
to the friends you do make and who expects the same loyalty
in return. Those who really get to know you realize that it
takes a lot to shake your trust in your friends but, equally,
that it takes you a long time to get over it if that trust
is broken.
From 21 to 30 points: Your friends see you as painstaking
and fussy. They see you as very, very cautious and extremely
careful, a slow and steady plodder. It would really surprise
them if you ever did something impulsively or on the spur
of the moment. They expect you to examine everything carefully
from every side and then, usually decide against it. They
think this reaction on your part is caused partly by your
careful nature and partly by laziness.
Under 21 points: People think you are shy, nervous,
and indecisive, someone who needs to be looked after, who
always wants someone else to make the decisions and who doesn't
want to get involved with anyone or anything. They see you
as a worrier, who sees problems that don't exist. Some people
think you're boring. Only the people who know you well know
that you aren't.

I
just read that Freaks and Geeks got the okay to make some
more new episodes. It's not quite a renewal for next season,
but it's close! But why, oh why, did NBC not promote the fact
that Jason Schwartzman (i.e. Max Fischer in Rushmore) was
guest starring, along with a bunch of other cool actors? Are
they trying to kil the show? Please remember to keep watching.
What else are you going to watch. 7th Heaven? Time of Your
Life? Come on!
Another personality test that Cam
reminded me of is the Keirsey
Temperament Sorter. I turned out to be an ISFJ,
but I get a different thing every time I take the test, depending
on my mood that day.
A fascinating article from Chicago magazine about
the last days of Gene Siskel. Apparently, he was extremely
secretive about his illness, some say in ways that seemed
unnecessary.
Salon has a
bunch of net pundits weighing in on the AOL-Time Warner merger.
I was just shocked that AOL is bigger than Time Warner. Anyway,
they have some interesting viewpoints. I had a reporter call
me yesterday to discuss MP3s, and how the merger will affect
music sales on the web (since Time Warner owns WEA, and digital
distribution is one of the issues that keeps coming up in
the discussions).
More than you ever wanted to know
about the Flowbee.
A
little Simpsons trivia for you, in honor of the Simpsons
10th anniversary.
Gay
and lesbian action groups are dismayed at Paramount's decision
to syndicate Dr. Laura's talk show. I'm glad people are
speaking out. I hate Dr. Laura! Hate her!
Flu
one-upmanship - I've seen it happen! I'm glad someone
pointed it out.
This
Internet Underground site is hilarious! Sex! Hacks! Theft!
Scams! All caused by the Internet! Because none of those things
existed before the Internet.
Wall Street is not rewarding women's sites like iVillage.com
or Women.com and
this article says it's because they target women. Could
it be because they suck?
Jim and I saw a
commercial for "City of Angels" and I joked
that it should be retitled, "The Show that CBS Commissioned
so the NAACP Wouldn't Boycott Them". Come on. You know
it's true.
