There's my little baby girl, Mia! Isn't she sweet? She wants to be famous someday and she begs me to take her picture every day.

You all are worried about me, aren't you? You are worried that I don't leave the house, and I think I'm upside down, and I think my cats are talking to me. I promise I will get out this weekend, and the semester starts next week, so I will stop being so crazy. Maybe.

I have probably the least energy efficient house in the world. I was sitting on the couch last night and I lifted the blanket we have hanging on the window (yes, we are white trash, and I don't know why we don't just buy curtains) and a BREEZE was coming in the allegedly closed window. Then I was in the kitchen and I felt a draft on my feet, so I followed it to the source and there was a breeze coming in under the back door. I need to get one of those "Draft Dodgers" or something. This is why we don't bother turning the heat on - - it doesn't do any good when there are breezes coming in the house. I'm trying to freeze out my landlord (who lives upstairs) so when he asks why we don't turn the heat on (we control the thermostat for the whole house), I can say, "Because we don't have storm windows or storm doors, and I don't care to heat the entire outdoors." And then I will have officially turned into my father.

Jim and I were talking about our dream house last night, just saying various features or characteristics we would have in our dream house. I asked him what color his dream house would be and he said black, with red shutters. Do you see what I have to put up with? Also last night, we were watching ER, and after every sentence Kellie Martin said, I added "Because I'm leaving medicine" or "And I'm leaving the ER" or "So, you should know, I'm not going to be around here anymore". And Jim didn't even slap me! So obviously, he puts up with a lot too.

It's a long weekend starting tomorrow because of Martin Luther King Day on Monday. I don't have a lot of plans for the weekend except to possibly go to Rochester with Mary on Saturday if the weather permits. She has to buy a shower gift and I have to spend a gift certificate, and the stores we need to go to don't have outlets here. Anyone have any suggestions for other things I could do this weekend? Maybe I should go clothes shopping, because we are having a tax-free week. Frankly, the savings isn't enough to lure me out. If it was like 50% off week or something maybe. I don't really need any clothes. I could go see a movie. The only ones I can see that Jim and I might both want to see are Galaxy Quest and Toy Story 2. Jim, what do you think? Do you want to go see a movie this weekend? Now you are all hanging on the edge of your seats. Tune in Tuesday to find out what Jim's answer was!

David Letterman is undergoing some heart tests due to high cholesterol and family history.

Okay, this is getting a little nuts. I mean, yeah, The Sopranos is a good show. But there have been stories about in every webzine, print magazine, everything! Whoever does PR for HBO deserves a big, fat raise.

I can't believe Fresh Hell didn't make the list: The Uprights Citizens Brigade list their favorite websites. And yes, there's also a Sopranos story on EW online today, but I'm ignoring it.

So I got two free things in the mail today: some shower gel from ingredients.com and a travel coffee mug from Amazon.com. Woo hoo!

College students take their high speed access for granted. High speed ISPs would be smart to target recent college graduates, don't you think?
