One year ago: I surprised myself with my knowledge of HTML (that still happens) and I took over the supergush website. I'm sure they regret that decision, since they are STILL waiting for me to finish the redesign. Oh, and I went on vacation and guess what I'm doing next week? Vacation!
I decided it was time to revive my tradition of self portraits in my entries, at least for once, because it's been a while and you might think I contracted leprosy and just didn't want to tell anyone, but meanwhile my nose fell off. So, as you can see in the picture, I still have a nose. Of course, I could have taken this picture months ago. Or maybe that's not even me. Did you ever think about that? Such is the nature of the Internet.
Since we last met, Sarah came to visit! She got in on Sunday night. I was going to take her to Grover C's Soup Kitchen, one of the few restaurants within walking distance of my house, but it was closed when we got there. Instead, we walked across the street to the Chinese place, and the food was really good. I felt bad because there was a wrestling pay-per-view that I had to watch (the way our system is set up, we can't watch something else and tape pay-per-view channels). I'm sure she was really, really bored but she pretended to be interested because she is nothing if not well-manered.
Then on Monday, we followed the time-honored tradition of going to the Blue Tusk for lunch, followed by some downtown shopping. After a little bit, we realized it was way too hot downtown and headed for the air-conditioned comfort of the mall. Sarah bought a few things, but she was saving money for her next stop, Toronto, and with the exchange rate, who can blame her? We went back to my place and vegged out for a while. Then we watched back-to-back episodes of 90210, which impressed Sarah because they don't get FX on her cable system. We walked over to Grover C's, after the previous day's abortive attempt, and had a really good meal and excellent conversation. Then we came back home and talked some more, and then watched Road Rules, and talked some more, and then went to sleep.
By the time I got up on Tuesday, Sarah was packed and ready to go. I felt a little guilty and hope she didn't wait long, but I was still asleep and never mentioned that. So Sarah, if you're reading this, what I said in that last sentence! She soon left to wing her way to Toronto to spend time with Wing and Glark and I was left alone with my recaps.
I've been pretty productive this week in that I have finished three Real World recaps (two from Seattle and one from New Orleans) as well as my WWF column and another upcoming article for Ironminds. I'll link to that one when it gets published.
Eric is coming home tomorrow for the weekend, so we've postponed our vacation a few days. Early Monday morning we will be heading into the wilderness of the Adirondacks to spend the week with Jim's family swimming, hiking and generally relaxing. I'm looking forward to it! It also means that there won't be any journal or weblog updates until probably Monday, July 10th at the earliest! I'm sure I will have lots of pictures for you though. You can always join the notify list if you don't feel like checking back here to see if I've updated. I only send out e-mails when I post a new journal entry. Catch you on the flip side!
P.S. Reunion Countdown: 15 days away! Ack! |
