I'm noticing that I'm developing quite the daily routine. Usually at the beginning of the semester, I'm all out of sorts because suddenly my classes are on different days and times, and my work hours have changed. Now, two weeks before the end of the semester, I have developed a routine. Of course, in two weeks it will all have to change again. AM 7:30: Jim wakes me up. I beg for 15 more minutes. 7:45: Jim wakes me up again, usually accompanied by one or more cats. I get up. I get my coffee. According to Jim, I always fill it up too far, thus ensuring that I will spill coffee on myself. 8:00: I scamper out to the car hoping that the neighbors don't see that I'm in my pajamas. This is a particular concern these days, as my pajama pants have a giant hole in the butt. Jim and I get in the car and drive to work. I drop Jim off at school and drive back home. 8:45: I get home, walk into the house and say hi to the cats. Sometimes I refill my coffee. Sometimes I eat some granola cereal. I grab my headphones so I can listen to Howard Stern, and switch on the computer. First thing every day, I send out an e-mail to my friends with the 80s Trivia Question of the Day. We're having an ongoing contest to see who will get the most questions right. 9:00 - 11:00: I surf the Web and respond to e-mails, sometimes having an ongoing conversation with some of my friends who have real jobs. First, I check all my regularly read online journals (and I've updated the list, so check it out if you are interested). Then I check the news. Then I usually write my daily journal entry. Then I go back and find interesting links for the sidebar, and upload today's entry. Usually, I will spend some time reading the Hissyfit Forums. I check TomatoNation to see if Sars has anything new up. I check my hometown website to see if there is anything new there. 11:00: Sometimes I listen to Dr. Laura. Sometimes I do Tae Bo. Sometimes I take a shower. Sometimes I clean the house. This is where the routine gets shaken up a bit. PM 12:00 - 4:00: Usually I either do school work, or I have a meeting or something (otherwise I wouldn't have to drive Jim in to work since I wouldn't need a car). Regardless, the afternoon slips by quickly. 4:40: I leave to go get Jim from work, if I'm not already up at school. 5:30: We get home and I have to start thinking about what to have for dinner. The evening is wasted with hanging out with Jim, talking to friends on the phone, watching TV, reading books and magazines and such. This will all be ending in a few weeks. If all goes according to plan, I will be starting my co-op experience (i.e. a paid internship) mid-May. I will probably be doing some work from home, but I will be at their office a lot of the time too. Plus, I'm taking a class on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30 - 9:15 or something. But the class only lasts a month. |
Jim saw a story on the news about these plastic rings that you can get put into your eye - basically, they are permanent contacts. But if it doesn't work, they can be removed. So it's kind of a better alternative than the laser surgery, where no one can guarantee that it will fix your eyes, or something could go horribly wrong. Amazon.com is buying some more companies, including Alexa. Now, Microsoft has incorporated Alexa into IE5 pretty closely. I wonder what that will bring. Everyone is in bed with everyone else. It's like the Internet summer of love. So this is the last year of the Lilith Fair. I kind of wish I had gone the first year. I could have - Borders was a sponsor the first year and I probably could have gotten free tickets. But we had a party at our house that day instead. None of our friends came because they were all going to Lilith Fair! And some of them got to hang out with Sarah McLaughlin. I'm such a loser. MovieFone is probably going to be bought by AOL on May 21. Does that mean that AOL will get all the profits from the sales of Star Wars tickets? Tickets go on sale May 12. RCA is going to make all their TVs (27 inch or larger) with WebTV circuitry. I'm fascinated by WebTV. ICQ me! My number is 37395424. |
