Addition: Congrats to the Rum-Huds on the birth of their daughter, Schuyler Noelle, born today at 12:20 p.m. And thanks to Dana for letting us all know!

I'm still in recovery, so no picture today. It's not pretty. Suffice to say that I slept nearly all day yesterday, and woke up with a start at 4 AM and couldn't get back to sleep. So I got up and started working on my paper and final exam, both due today. The paper is done and the final is nearly done. I started to get really repetitive, so I'm taking a break to do a journal entry. Plus, I have to do all the crap I should've done yesterday (and really should've done last week!). When did I get so behind?

Anyway, my cat is currently taking a nap on my printer. That can't be comfortable. But she is dead asleep.

This weekend was exciting because Mary and Terry got engaged! Saturday morning, Jim and I went out to breakfast at IHOP and then swung by Staples to pick up a few items. When we got home, there was a mysterious message from Terry, asking us if we wanted to go out that night, but telling us not to call back, because Mary didn't know. So I figured out right away that he was popping the question that day. I knew they went ring shopping, so it was only a matter of time. Sure enough, Mar called later that day with the good news!

We met them and a bunch of other people out at Clark's (yes, the same place I went Wednesday night). It was a good time. Lots of teasing of Terry and all the other unmarried guys in the group about marriage and junk, but it was all good-natured and everyone took it in the spirit in which it was intended.

So they're getting married! They've only been dating for 7 and a half years, so I guess it shouldn't come as a shocker. But it's exciting, nonetheless. They picked a date of October 14, 2000. Mark it on your calendars now. It sounds so far away, but I remember early last year when Mary and I made our Disney plans, and that came up so fast! I'm sure this will be the same.

My neighbors were fighting again this morning. I didn't hear most of it because I was working on my paper and had my headphones on. Jim said they were yelling at each other and slamming doors and stomping around. At 7 AM. I mean, if they want to fight, that's their business. But if they want to make a lot of noise at ungodly hours, that's my business! Have I mentioned lately how much I want a house? Anyone want to buy me one for Christmas? I didn't think so. Well, my GAship starts again in January, so we will have a little more income than we've gotten used to, and hopefully that means we can start saving a little bit. That's all for now. See you later!

Is anyone else sick of seeing Jeff Bezos' smarmy face everywhere? I mean, it's not like the guy discovered a cure for cancer or something.

I'm not sure how this is news, but Mariah Carey's former home burns.

This is a good story about Gary Larson, creator of "The Far Side", but why now? Just wondering.

Two Weathermen in Syracuse, NY pass the time in line at the post office. I want to point out that Dave Eichorn really is the lead meteorologist at Channel 9.

I agree that portable MP3 players are too expensive. Once the price point gets down to be comparable with portable CD players, it might be a little more reasonable.
