I added a search function to my website, just for the heck of it. It's over there to the left, and there's also a search button on the Index page. Let me know how it works out for you.

Jim is watching "Major League" and he claims that there's nothing else on, but I refuse to believe that. He got out of work early today because it's the last day before the holiday, so we went straight to the mall to pick up a few last-minute Christmas gifts. It actually wasn't too bad. We got there about 2:30 or so and didn't have much trouble getting in or finding a parking spot. It did start to get crowded just before we left at about 4:30. But I guess I expected it to be a lot worse.

I am happy to report that all of my online orders arrived on time -- the last package arrived today! I was a little worried, but it was kind of an impulse buy for Jim and I knew he wouldn't mind if it didn't show up until after Christmas. Now I just have to finish wrapping everything!

I have had a hard time getting into the Christmas spirit this year, and Jim has too. I don't know why that is. The lack of snow is certainly part of it. We may get some yet - they appear to be getting quite a bit north of here, in the Adirondack area. But it's just super cold around here. On the one hand, I would like to get some snow. On the other hand, I know a lot of people are traveling and I don't want poor travel conditions.

I'm starting to get excited for Christmas though. I think I was all wrapped up in all the stuff I had to do, but now that most of that is out of the way, I'm able to relax a little bit and enjoy myself. Speaking of things I was supposed to do, if I owe you a Christmas card, they're not going out until after Christmas. Our printer shit the bed so I couldn't print out my eagerly anticipated holiday newsletter, and that held up the cards. So they'll be post-holiday cards. I'm telling myself that is acceptable.

Jim and I saw a Christian video game at CompUSA today. I can't remember what it was called, but Jim thinks it was "War in Heaven". Apparently, each level of the game teaches you a biblical lesson. The screenshot on the back of the box showed some evil frogs. Now granted, it has been a while since I read the Bible, but I don't remember any evil frogs. Maybe it was a metaphor. Anyway, my point is that the graphics looked terrible. I have no problem with someone creating a Christian video game, but they could have at least made it comparable with other current games to give it a fighting chance.

That reminds me...Jim and I caught a bit of the South Park Christmas Special last night and I commented that Trey Parker and Matt Stone are going straight to hell. It doesn't get any more blasphemous than "F--- you, Jesus," which is a direct quote. Don't get me wrong, I'll probably be roasting right next to them, but it just struck me.

Finally, if you get the opportunity to watch Kathy Griffin's comedy special on HBO, do so. It is hilarious. I don't normally laugh out loud while watching television, and I was roaring. This is my last entry until the 27th or so. Have a great Christmas, if you celebrate it! If not, have a great weekend at least.

We're in the market for a new answering machine. We currently have a BellSouth digital answering machine and it sucks. Our phone works fine, so I don't want to buy a phone/machine combo. I tried using MySimon to find a new one, but it wasn't very successful. Epinions doesn't have an answering machine category. Any suggestions?

ABC cancels "It's Like, You Know" and "Oh, Grow Up". A nation mourns.

Terrorist threats are scary. For a minute, I thought, "They would never target Syracuse." Then I remembered Oklahoma City, an unlikely target if there ever was one.

Some celebrity gossip for you, about Edward Norton, Salma Hayek, Jerry Seinfeld and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Joyce Millman argues that the 90's redefined television, and she makes a pretty compelling argument. Being that most of my adult years have happened in the 90's, I'm not really in a position to disagree, but I'm sure someone could make a case for the 50's or even the 70's.
