I have a bit of a confession to make. I love all things Canadian. I am a Canuckophile. I love how Canadians say "ooot" and "abooot" and "eh". (And don't let them tell you they don't talk that way - oh, they do). I've always kind of wanted to live in Canada.

I don't know why I feel this way. Every time I've been to Canada (and it's only about 3 hours away, so I've been a few times), it just seems so clean, and the people seem so nice. Perhaps I just haven't seen the seedy side of Canada. Maybe I'm deluded. Yeah, they have that crazy Value Added Tax thing, and pretty high taxes in general. But that seems like a small price to pay for decent health care. Plus, a lot of funny people are from Canada. Mike Myers. The Kids in the Hall. SCTV. Michael J. Freakin' Fox. Wing Chun and Glark from Hissyfit. The list just goes on and on.

What inspired this revelation, you ask? I saw the funniest episode of Newsradio last night. It was the one where the group finds out that Dave is Canadian, with the subplot of Bill joining the gym where Ben Stiller is the salesman. It was a half hour of jam-packed comedy. I laughed and laughed and laughed. Anyway, as you can imagine, there were numerous Canadian jokes throughout. And it just got me thinking about how much I love all things Canadian. Have you ever been to Toronto, people? I defy you to visit that city and not love it. Even the pigeons are cleaner. I've never been to Western Canada, but I hear good things about Vancouver as well.

OK, enough rambling about Canada.

TONIGHT is the dreaded college reunion. Please remember me in your prayers. I don't even know why I'm going to this thing. But I guess if I have low expectations, it can't help but be fun in comparison, right?

I'm getting my haircut today in preparation. I'm a little worried - if something goes terribly wrong, I don't have any time to try and fix it! But I trust this hairdresser. I'm kind of ashamed to go though, because I cut my own hair about a week ago because I was sick of it, and what I wanted was so basic, I couldn't see paying someone to do it. But now I'm realizing that I can't cut the back of my hair, so it probably looks terrible. So I'm going to leave it to a professional.

I'm also thinking about buying a new outfit this afternoon if I have time. I have to go to my internship this afternoon, but I hope to get out a little early and head to the mall. The problem is that the brochure gives NO information about the level of dress. Here is exactly what it says:

Join your fellow classmates and friends at your class party! An Endless Buffet and hosted bar are featured. Feel free to bring your photos and other memorabilia! Locations will be posted at check-in.

I'm guessing it's casual - like a sundress, or a skirt and top. But really, they could give you some sort of hint, you know? Saturday night, there is a "Reunion 1999 Gala" and I'm guessing that's dressy. Oh, who cares. If I feel stupid, I can always run home and change. I have put way too much energy into this already!

A group called the Parents Television Council is trying to curb the amount of sex on TV. You know, I watched Three's Company when I was young, and I missed every last bit of sexual innuendo. Plus, if you don't want your kids to watch it, don't let them. Or watch it with them and talk about it. But don't tell me I can't watch it.

How excited am I about The Brady Bunch: The E! True Hollywood Story? I need to get a life.

Barnes & Noble called off their proposed merger with Ingram. That noise you just heard was a huge sigh of relief from every other bookseller across the country.

For web graphic designers: all the hexadecimal color values, by hue. This is an invaluable tool when trying to make web-safe graphics.

This is an interesting concept: a column where the author tries to do various tasks the old or standard way, and then the same task using the web, and then judges which way is better.
