November 3, 1999
I'm
recycling a picture from back in August! Wow, my hair was
really short then. It's a lot longer now, and a lot less blonde.
I wish I could have it blonde again but I can't afford the
upkeep so I end up with really ugly, dark roots. Maybe once
I am gainfully employed! I was just telling Wing
Chun on ICQ last night that when I got a job I am going
to get regular manicures and eyebrow waxings. Woo hoo!
Boy, it got cold here all of a sudden. It was in the low
70's all weekend - just beautiful weather. And then there
was snow in the air this morning! I am having a hard time
typing because it's so cold in the house and my fingers are
a little numb.
I am trying to do a modified Carbohydrate's Addict Diet.
Basically, I'm just trying to cut down on my carbohydrates
(since I frequently eat meals that are nothing BUT carbohydrates),
cut down on sugar and increase vegetables, and also to watch
my portions. It's nothing drastic because it's not really
a diet - more of a lifestyle change I'm trying to make. I'm
doing OK with it so far except for that pesky leftover Halloween
candy. We did not get one trick-or-treater! So far I've limited
myself to one Reese's Cup and a handful of Twizzlers since
Sunday, which is a lot less than I would normally have.
I took the Saturn in to get new windshield wipers and an
oil change today. The guy saw my supergush bumper sticker
and started asking me about them. Turns out he's a huge fan!
I was telling him about the website and their new CD coming
out in January and he was all excited. He told his co-worker
about the band, and said, "They're local right now but
probably not for long because they're really good!" That
was so cool. I mean, I know the band has fans beyond their
friends and family, but I rarely see or hear from them. Then
the girl I had to give my check to used to work with Randy,
so I was telling her how he's living in Texas and just had
a baby. All my worlds were converging.
Well, I have recaps to do so I'll save the story of the wedding
and reception for tomorrow, I guess. See you later.

There's
something to the idea that at some point all our information
resources will be exhausted. However, I think that people
will continue to come with new ways to entertain and inform
with the same resources.
I really, really, really hope
Dr. Laura loses this lawsuit. She slandered a surf shop
owner on her radio show because he carried a magazine called
Big Brother, that she felt was pornographic. The owner pulled
the magazine and says he never even ordered it. Having a boyfriend
who worked in the magazine industry, I can tell you that wholesalers
(particularly local ones) often drop off magazines that the
store didn't order.
I really like
West Wing. And it's on tonight!
