This picture is a little weird, no? My eyes look crooked. I don't think my eyes are really crooked. At least not that I've noticed.

I have done pretty much nothing since I've been home from vacation. We got home Tuesday night about 9 p.m. I spent some time watching some of my tapes, catching up on my magazines and newspapers and unpacking. Jim went over to say goodbye to Justin, who left for San Diego on Wednesday. Then I ended up staying up very late to finish my Party of Five recap on Mighty Big TV. And I just noticed that one of my Celebrity or Personality pieces is up on Fametracker. I forgot I wrote that one! It was kind of weird to see it go up since I forgot about it.

Yesterday, I got up and caught up on all my journals, wrote my own journal entry and then started to watch Real World to finish that recap. I also made some beef tacos for dinner, which were pretty good, but I made too much. Our friend Eric is in town, so he came over and brought me some Zingerman's Brownies. Yay! I offered him dinner, but since he's a vegetarian, he wasn't really interested. He brought his own vegetable soup for dinner.

Eric and Jim played some Playstation games, and then we watched Friends. I was a bit disappointed in Friends. It just hasn't been as funny this season as it was last season. I'm hoping it picks up in a while. We also watched ER, which I thought was OK. I can't decide if I like or dislike all the new characters. On the one hand, all the characters means a faster-paced show, in order to fit them all in. Plus, if you hate one character or storyline, just wait because a new one will come along in a few minutes. On the other hand, it gets kind of hard to keep things straight, and it feels confusing at times. I feel like the writers can't think of any new storylines, so they just keep throwing things at the wall and see what sticks. Someone at MBTV pointed out that last night featured about five recycled storylines. And they couldn't possibly be more obvious about Dr. Luka being the new Doug Ross, which is just annoying. I used to like ER for its subtlety, which is completely gone now.

Anyway, after Eric left, I wrote my Real World recap, which should go up today. This is the latest its ever been, and I've even gotten e-mails from people telling me to hurry up! I thought that was funny.

This afternoon I have a group meeting for my E-Commerce class and then tonight I'm going to Styleens to see supergush. If you live in the Syracuse area, please come on by! It should be a lot of fun.

I would like to award Edward Norton the Golden Stepladder Award so that he can climb up it and get over himself. He says in this article that, "The responsibility shifts to the critical community to grant [Fight Club] a more sophisticated treatment and maybe see it twice before they review it." Actually, the critics don't owe you anything, except the same review they give every other movie. To suggest that your movie is so complicated that the average person couldn't possibly understand it on first viewing strikes me as a bit egotistical. Also, you aren't my generation's spokesman. I don't remember voting on that one.

Get ready for the Nirvana tributes to begin! It's been 10 years since the release of Bleach and there is a box set coming out with an unreleased track.

Salon has an interesting review of Fight Club.
