This
is a picture from the Oakwood Cemetary here in Syracuse, and
the name on the tombstone is Assmann. It just cracked me up.
I realize I shouldn't make fun of dead people, and I'm probably
going straight to hell, but come on - that's funny. Assmann.
It reminds me of that Seinfeld episode. So I had to take a
picture, and here it is. I hope you enjoy the Assmann too.
So how was your weekend? Friday night, I went to Styleen's
to see supergush
play and shoot their video. It was funny because they were
all really nervous because of the video. I mean, they play
a lot of shows, so they're pretty much at the point where
they don't get nervous anymore, really. But they did Friday
night. The first few songs were just okay, and then they did
a cover of "Hey Jealousy" that kind of broke down
near the middle. Maybe they just needed to get it out of their
system because after that, they rocked! I was singing along
and dancing around, which I haven't done for ages. A lot of
people were dancing too, and they even yelled for "One
more song!" when the whole thing was over. So the guys
came back and did "Why Go" by Pearl Jam, which was
awesome. It got me thinking about college, and how I used
to go to shows and just dance like crazy and rock out, and
how I never do that anymore because I'm old. And I need to
do more things because they are fun, instead of standing around
and observing them. Nowadays when I go to bars or clubs, which
isn't very often really, I tend to sit around and watch other
people have fun (and usually make cracks about their outfits).
Part of it is insecurity about myself and how I look - I don't
feel comfortable getting out there and dancing around because
I'm a big fatty. But also I'm too cool for school sometimes,
and I need to just stop caring what other people think and
just do it and have fun, like I did on Friday night. Or something.
Saturday, we went to the mall to try to buy more RAM for
the computer. Unfortunately, they didn't have the right kind
at the computer store. I'm really looking forward to getting
more because I tend to open like ten browser windows, plus
Photoshop, plus DreamWeaver, and then wonder why my computer
crashes. After that, we went to check out the new Discovery
Channel store. I really liked it. It's kind of a cross
between the Nature Company and those LearningSmith type stores.
Just lots of neat books, videos and other stuff. I should
definitely get my mom's Christmas present there. Then we went
to Borders
and Jim bought the Harry
Potter book we couldn't find the other day, and I bought
the Felicity
book. Hey, it's a work-related expense! The new
recap is up by the way. Anyway, the book was totally bizarro.
If you watch the show, you know she chose Ben. Well, in the
book she chose Noel! I wasn't sure if they were going for
an alternate universe thing or what, but someone on the MBTV
forums said that was the original storyline and they changed
it to Ben at the very last minute. It was confusing, all right.
This is already pretty long, so I'll stop here. Smell ya
later!

Why am I fascinated by what other people are searching for?
Here's
another search engine spy page. [thanks,

I like looking at the pretty things at the
Kenneth Cole website, but I can't really afford them.
High
protein diets - how healthy are they? While I know they
work, they make me a little nervous.
Wondering why DVDs are so cool? Read
this convert's reasoning.
Whatever
happened to the Fugee's followup disc? This and other
questions are answered on EW's site.
"Wasteland"
and "Ryan Caulfield" aren't doing so well in the
ratings. Guess what? Writing still matters in television.
The
Crowes/Page bill gets a mixed review, but it was only
the first night. I predict they'll loosen up as the shows
go on. Justin is going to see them in California, so I'll
let you know what he thought!
Madonna
got a death threat at London's Heathrow Airport. I was
telling Wing Chun about this on the phone, and she thought
I said I got a death threat!
