I was going to do a funny entry about SNL 25, but I'm not feeling very funny today. Maybe later this week. I did watch it, and I enjoyed it. Unlike the rest of the world, I think this season's skits are pretty funny. I like the cheerleaders. I like Mary Katherine Gallagher. Then again, I'm easily amused. I was checking out the SNL 25 website today and it kind of stinks. A lot of the video clips didn't work. I know it wasn't me because some did work, and others didn't. I don't know if it was a traffic issue or what. And then the navigation was pretty terrible too. And why only cast info and bios on the current cast? Isn't the site designed to celebrate SNL's 25th anniversary? As in ALL of the seasons? So I went home this weekend. Friday night, we went to my high school's football game. They won by a lot. Mostly, I hung out with my mom and my sister-in-law. Jim brought his Rio and listened to Pearl Jam, so I guess he was happy. Saturday, Jim and I went shopping. He periodically gets a check from his grandparents' estate. They're not gigantic - probably about the equivalent of one month's pay. And we never know when they're coming, so it's always just like pennies from heaven. And we got one Friday. So we decided to invest some, use some to pay off credit cards and then use the rest for mad money. So, that means computer upgrades. We went to CompUSA to gauge prices and stuff. Then we went to PetSmart and I got sad about the kittens and puppies up for adoption. I don't know why I torture myself like that. We stuck some money in the donation box though. Then we went to the furniture store. I didn't really see any furniture I liked though. The only set I sort of liked is the same exact furniture that Mary and Terry have, which would be kind of weird. Plus it's kind of a nubby texture, and our cats would tear it apart. We did kind of like one set that is made by La-Z-Boy, but we figured we could get it cheaper directly from them. Not that we're buying furniture anytime soon - we hope to buy a house before we buy furniture, and that won't be for a year or two at least. But it's fun to look, and get ideas of what's out there, so we're ready when the time comes. My parents took us out to dinner that night, along with my brother and sister-in-law. That was really fun. I don't get to see my brother and his wife as often as I would like. Sunday, we went out to visit my grandmother before heading out. Oh, the whole reason for the trip was to get fitted for my bridesmaid dress for Gretchen's wedding. So I did that too. And I have nothing else to say. The end. |
